Coaching – What I Wish You Knew!

coaching

Coaching – have you experienced it first hand?

Honestly, it’s difficult to describe just how unbelievably beneficial a simple coaching conversation is, but if you’ve worked with a coach, you know!

If you haven’t had the pleasure of working with a coach, there’s so much I’d eagerly want to share with you.

Maybe in your mind, coaching is for floundering folks – those who are in the midst of a major mess, and that’s not you!

Oh, if you only knew!

It’s true coaching is a fabulous way to move forward, but you might be surprised by that fact that many of my clients are wildly successful leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs. And you know what? They know that coaching makes them even more effective.

Coaching offers a safe place to process and explore. For many, that’s not available to them anywhere else and when operating at a high level, It’s vital.

At any given time, my clients are working on a vast array of goals including…

  • Making changes both big and small
  • Getting better at what they do – growing their leadership skills, time skills, & more
  • Finding strategies to work smarter not harder
  • Tackling mindsets and patterns that are getting in the way of their goals, peace, and success
  • Processing challenging circumstances and situations in a confidential and safe space
  • Intentionally pursuing their goals
  • Growing a business
  • Getting unstuck
  • Developing new habits
  • Transitioning – a new role, a new season, etc.
  • Creating a better work/life balance
  • Finding peace!
  • Healing and moving forward after a hard life experience

And the list goes on!

Oh, if you only knew!

You are worth it! The cost of not coaching is far greater than taking the bold step of investing in you!

If we were chatting, I’d want you to know that…

  • Your goals are my priority! I so want you to succeed!
  • My heart is to keep God at the center of our coaching time – I coach from a Christian perspective
  • I pray with you, and I pray for you

That doesn’t mean that I’m unwilling to coach someone who would rather not have prayer included, I just want to be clear about where I’m coming from.

Some wonder…

If I’m trying to take the place of God when coaching. Nothing could be further from the truth. That’s like suggesting that you don’t need a doctor because God heals. As an ICF certified coach, I’m equipped as a coach, and the Holy Spirit is a dynamic, active part of the coaching process.

Oh, if you only knew…all the crazy powerful insights that bubble up in a coaching session that help to propel people forward. It’s a process and a very effective one.

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am when a client has a brand-new realization that sets them on a life changing trajectory that dramatically improves their life and/or work!

In my excitement, I could keep rambling, but instead I’ll share with you these “C’s” – aspects of my coaching that I really wish you knew about because coaching is about…

1. A Conversation

Not just any conversation, but a intentional conversation that brings to light what you didn’t even know was in you! Then you are able to make decisions and changes that are right for YOU.

Contrary to what many assume about coaching, it’s not about me telling you what you should do, but rather you arriving at the best conclusion for yourself.

2. Change

Getting from where you are now, to where you want to be won’t happen without making changes. And helping people make changes is what coaches do best. That’s why coaches are often called “Change Experts.” Tony Stoltzfus, a pioneer in the coaching field, describes it this way:

“Coaches are change experts who help leaders take responsibility for their lives
and act to maximize their own potential.”

Wow! Maximize their own potential!

I get that change is not easy. The beauty of coaching is that it brings to light your funky thinking and counterproductive habits – the roots – the places change really needs to take place. Then I’m able to draw out of you what you didn’t even know was there so that together we arrive at a strategy that’s right for you. Before you know it, you’ve made positive changes!

3. Confidentiality

Because the conversations between a coach and client are confidential, you have the freedom to discuss situations or problems you might not feel safe enough to discuss with anyone else. Those tough to talk about topics are often playing a significant role in holding you back, so having space to explore them, gain new perspective, and sort them out is liberating.

4. Championing

Let’s face it: we all do better with someone in our corner cheering us on. As your coach, I do more than cheer you on, I interact with my clients in a way that builds trust, keeps hope alive, and is inspiring too.

I want you to succeed! I am eager to celebrate your successes with you! And I can’t wait to highlight the areas you’ve grown – so often you miss the growth that’s taken place.

I’m there when you fail to help you recover and keep on going. While I can’t actually do your work, being your advocate – that makes my heart happy!

5. Clarity

Perhaps lack of clarity is a reason you aren’t progressing the way you’d like. Helping you find clarity in the confusion – that’s what I delight in doing. Taking your thoughts and assisting you in articulating them in meaningful ways.

With clarity, your target is clear and you have a renewed sense of direction. That makes it easier to create a strategy for hitting your target.

6. Core Values

I confess, before becoming a coach I didn’t know what my Top 5 Values were. I had a general sense of what was important to me, but it was mighty vague.

Wow! Now that I know what my values are Relationships [including with God], Communication, Stewardship, Creativity, and Practicality, I’m able to pursue my life and work in ways that are in keeping with my values. It’s like being in sync with yourself, and it’s a marvelous feeling.

As your coach, I want you to avoid the potential friction that comes when you are operating in conflict with your values so you are able to enjoy that marvelous feeling too!

7. Confidence

Time and time again, what I’ve observed with clients is a surge of confidence that comes as they gain clarity, face their fears, and experience the support that coaching provides. Who doesn’t want to have greater confidence?

The bonus: my clients are then able to take on more significant challenges – the kind of challenges that are certain when walking out what God’s called them to do.

What would a surge of confidence do for you?

8. Customize

Coaching is all about you, your needs, and your goals. That’s why before we begin working together, I want to chat with you so that we can talk about what you’d like to accomplish through coaching so that we stay on track. And I want us both to make sure that working together is a good fit

In that conversation, we will explore some of the additional options that might benefit you including assessments like DISC (personality), HBDI (thinking preferences), Values, a custom 360, and more.

The coaching process is tailored to you; I want our time together to meet your needs! With that in mind, you are able to choose the coaching package that’s right for you.

Interested in Group Coaching for you and/or your team? We can explore that too!

Thinking about a workshop or webinar to develop your team? That’s also a possibility.

Schedule a coffee chat now!

Once you’ve determined that working together is a good fit, I’ll send you everything you need to get started. It’s all something you can do online so it’s super simple!

I know you have a full plate. That’s why I coach over the phone – you are able to work with me from just about anywhere! No driving!

And I record my sessions so you are able to go back and listen to them. Some of my clients regularly listen to the replay of their session. Others listen months or years later to see how far they’ve come!

Your first session is a get-to-know-you session where I get to know you better and we establish a clear target for working together. All following sessions you set the agenda assuring that you accomplish what you want to accomplish through the coaching process.

9. Cost

Perhaps what’s holding you back from giving coaching a whirl is the cost. Here’s what I want you to consider:

      • What’s it costing YOU to NOT try coaching?

Money, valuable time, grown, success, or your relationships?
Your peace, reaching your goals, confidence, or your future?

      • What keeps YOU from investing in YOU?

You are worth the investment!
Imagine what would be different after investing in YOU – your development, growth, self-care, etc.!

I believe so much in the coaching process I work with a coach myself. I hope you will too!

What’s keeping you from experiencing coaching?
